East HS will have additional security Monday after threat, district says
DENVER — Denver East High School will have additional security Monday after a threat was posted on social media, Denver Public Schools said. "Today, we were made aware of a threat against East that was posted on a social media platform," the district said in an email Sunday. "We immediately notified the DPS Department of Safety who worked with the Denver Police Department. Both agencies have been investigating the message today. As a safety precaution, and to try to ease the concerns of our students and staff, we will have an additional safety presence at the school and the surrounding area on Monday. "

STEM day for hundreds of middle school girls canceled due to Auraria Campus protests
DENVER — A daylong STEM event for middle school girls scheduled for this week on the Auraria Campus has been canceled due to safety concerns from pro-Palestinian protests. The event, Girls Exploring Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, was supposed to take place Thursday in the PE Event Center building, next to the Tivoli Quad where protests started last month.
