Idaho judge considers whether to hold quadruple murder trial in small university town or elsewhere
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Attorneys for the man charged in the 2022 stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students asked a judge to move the trial to a larger city during a hearing Thursday, citing the widespread media coverage of the case and the impact that coverage can have on potential juror bias. Bryan Kohberger’s defense team says strong emotions in the close-knit community and constant news coverage will make it impossible to find an impartial jury in the university town of Moscow, Idaho....
"Flat-liner" Huff claims third straight Sole Survivor golf win
Sep. 3—One year ago, after clinching his second consecutive Whing Ding Sole Survivor golf title, Jason Huff of Lewiston described it as something he had "never thought would happen." 'Inexperienced' Highland team still comes up with another win at Rocky Mountain Rumble

Big crowds attend Eastern Idaho State Fair during holiday weekend
BLACKFOOT — Mother Nature cooperated a bit more during the opening days of the 2024 Eastern Idaho State Fair for the Labor Day weekend than what was seen in 2023, resulting in good crowds going through the gates at the Blackfoot fairgrounds each day. Labor Day — typically one of the biggest days of the fair — in 2023 brought rainy weather, keeping the crowds down. The weekend this year has seen seasonable temperatures with only a threat of moderate rain arriving later in the day Monday. Large crowds have filled the grandstand for pari-mutuel racing and Indian relay races, bull riding, truck and tractor pulls, and pro rodeo action, with more large crowds expected for comedian Jeff Foxworthy Thursday night and classic rock band Journey taking the stage Friday night.
