Unidentified man killed after more than 40 shots fired in 'targeted' Philadelphia shooting
A 24-year-old man is dead after gunmen allegedly ambushed him, firing more than 40 shots, in Philadelphia's Hunting Park section.Police responded to the 700 block of West Lycoming Street around 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday after a report of a person with a gun.When they arrived, police found the victim shot throughout his body at close range.He was pronounced dead at the scene.Police say several weapons were involved, leading them to believe multiple shooters targeted the man.Detectives don't yet know the motive.The victim did not have any identification on him so, for now, he is considered a John Doe.RELATED: Check the 6abc Neighborhood Safety Tracker
Beef theft leads to charges for Philly trio
Douglas Mathis, 36; Jamir Scott, 25; and Tariq Duncan, 31, were seen Tuesday, September 24, 2024, wearing dark clothing and masks while breaking a lock on a trailer in the 7300 block of Edmund Street, the Attorney General's Office said. They were carrying 25 cases of beef valued at $7,000 from the trailer to their van.
Warrington Police Arrest Woman with Outstanding Warrant in Fabric Store
WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA—Warrington police arrested a Horsham woman wanted on an outstanding warrant earlier this month after noticing her walk into a local fabric store.On Sept. 14, a Warrington police officer spotted Patricia Grace Fornal, 50, entering the Joann Fabrics next to the Target on Easton Road. Police said they found narcotics and drug paraphernalia on Fornal when she was arrested.Fornal was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
