Local Talent Shines at Southwestern Michigan College's Annual Student Art Show
Southwestern Michigan College (SMC) hosted its yearly student art show on April 16. Sashenka Cruz and Cecilia Matthews, two students, were acknowledged for their art. Cruz, a first-year student from Dowagiac, won the Peer Award. Her artwork included a graphite portrait, a self-portrait, and a scene depicting a man in a suit on the phone. Cruz intends to study at Wayne State University in Detroit after her last semester at SMC, aiming to get a master's degree in art therapy.
