Blotter: Denton couple films possible burglar in their backyard
A Denton couple reported seeing a possible burglar leaving their yard at midnight and then filmed him jumping their fence an hour later, according to a police report. At about 12:04 a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to a suspicious activity call from a home in the 3000 block of Lipizzan Court. When officers arrived, they spoke to a husband and wife.
Police: Repeat drunken driver causes crash on I-35 after consuming heroin-like supplement
A 58-year-old man who has previously been convicted of driving while intoxicated was arrested again after a crash on Interstate 35 on Monday morning. At about 11:15 a.m., Denton police were dispatched to a vehicle crash in the 13500 block of I-35.
Bicyclist injured in crash off Teasley Lane
A bicyclist’s leg was injured in a crash with a vehicle outside the Pizza Hut on Teasley Lane on Monday, according to police call notes. At about 6:37 p.m., a 911 caller reported she struck someone on riding a bike while turning into the parking lot of Pizza Hut, 1600 Teasley Lane.
Marcus student detained for threats
The Flower Mound Police Department announced Tuesday that it has detained a Marcus High School student for making threatening statements on social media. On Tuesday, FMPD received information from a federal agency regarding threatening statements made by a student on a social media app. FMPD worked with Lewisville ISD to investigate the threat and detained one juvenile student, who has been transported to Denton County Juvenile Detention Center.
Blotter: Residents report gunshot at Denton apartment complex
Denton police are investigating reports of a gunshot at an apartment complex early Sunday morning. At about 3:46 a.m., Denton officers were dispatched to a report of a person with a gun at an apartment complex in the 1600 block of East McKinney Street.
