Marion County Public Schools to hold three hiring fairs for instructional positions
Three upcoming hiring fairs will offer instructional positions throughout Marion County Public Schools at various grade levels and subject areas to qualified candidates. The fairs are scheduled for May 9, June 13, and July 18, all Thursdays, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (May and June) and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (July) at the Klein Conference Center at the College of Central Florida, located at 3001 SW College Rd., Ocala, 34474.
Marion County Schools Gear Up for Healthier Meals Under New USDA Guidelines
Florida schools are preparing to implement new USDA regulations that aim to improve the nutritional quality of school meals. These regulations, which limit added sugars and reduce sodium content, were announced by the Department of Agriculture. They will start in July 2024 and be fully implemented by the 2025-26 school year. For the first time, federal standards will set limits on added sugars in school meals, initially targeting high-sugar items like cereals, yogurts, and flavored milks.
