Both parties in a wrongful death lawsuit regarding toddler Ayla Reynolds have agreed upon a settlement. The Toddler Was Staying With Her Father When She Disappeared. It was a case that held residents around the state captive, hoping someone would find the beautiful blonde toddler. Ayla Reynolds went missing while in the custody of her father in December 2011. People in the house that night told authorities that Ayla was put to bed, but was not in the house when the family awoke the next morning. A massive search that stretched far beyond Waterville, where she was staying when she vanished, failed to turn up any sign of the 20-month-old.
