Longtime Florida Pharmacy Files for Bankruptcy Amid Financial Struggles
Pharmacy Care, a Wilton Manors-based pharmacy operating under the name The Medicine Shoppe, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, marking the end of over two decades of business. The pharmacy, which has nearly a dozen locations, including seven in South Florida, petitioned for liquidation on August 19, 2024, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

It probably will not come as a complete surprise to Floridians that one more Winn Dixie - this time in the Villages - is confirmed to become an Aldi. The grocer's purchase of 400 Winn Dixie stores last year means that some Winn Dixie stores will change over to Florida. Therefore, many Floridians can see the writing on the wall - that their local Winn Dixie may be converted. I've written about confirmations of Winn Dixie stores in Panama City, Panama City Beach, Lakeland, Deltona, and Pensacola converting. And now it is confirmed to be happening in the Villages and not all residents are happy.

South Coast Equipment LLC, a Miami-based contractor specializing in land clearing, demolition, excavation, and equipment rentals, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The 11-year-old company, which encountered financial difficulties on several major projects, petitioned for reorganization on September 3, 2024, in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Miami.
