Memorial Day is Monday, May 27th. Here's what's happening in Hancock. The Union Congregational Church of Hancock will host Breakfast on the Green at the Town's Memorial Day observance at the Hancock Village Memorial Lot on Monday, May 27th. The Lot is located at the intersection of Point Road and US Route 1 in Hancock. Breakfast sandwiches, muffins, fruit salad, coffee, water, and juice will be available for purchase at 9:30 am prior to the 10 a.m. start of the Memorial Day Service.
‘No courthouse in our neighborhood’: Plans for new Hancock County facility draw outcry
A long-awaited plan by the Maine judicial branch to replace three old courthouses in the state with newer and more secure facilities has hit a snag in Hancock County. Local residents have raised numerous concerns about the proposed site of the $55 million Hancock County Judicial Center in Ellsworth, and made their opposition clear: The road leading to the site is peppered with blue-and-white signs proclaiming “NO COURTHOUSE in our NEIGHBORHOOD.”

These free, family-friendly concerts are sponsored by the City of Ellsworth and hosted by The Grand, and will take place at Harbor Park at the Ellsworth Waterfront at 6 p.m. In the event of inclement weather the concerts will be held on the following Sunday at 4 p.m.
