Naperville area schools compete at the IHSA 3A Boys State Track & Field Finals
The Cicadas have migrated to Eastern Illinois University and so did a huge crowd of people for the 3A Boys IHSA State Track & Field Finals. Naperville Area Schools such as Naperville Central, Metea Valley, and Neuqua Valley are here to compete for the IHSA state trophy, even if that means competing against the Cicadas on this sunny day. Benet Softball defeats Willowbrook to win fourth straight IHSA Regional Championship
Benet Academy softball looks to win a fourth straight Regional Championship, as the two-seeded Redwings take on the seventh-seed Willowbrook Warriors. The wings are in search of the program’s first 4A Regional title since 2013 and have won 17 of the past 18 games, including an 11-2 win against Hinsdale Central in the Semis. Garrett Crochet records 11 strikeouts against Baltimore
Baltimore (33-18) defeated Chicago (15-39) on Sunday at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois. Former Vol Garrett Crochet (5-5) started and pitched six innings for the White Sox. He recorded 11 strikeouts, while allowing two earned runs, three hits and one walk. Crochet totaled 91 pitches, including 64 strikes. Crochet was selected by the White Sox in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft (No. 11 overall). He played for the Vols from 2018-20, appearing in 36 games. Crochet (10-9) recorded 149 strikeouts during his career at Tennessee. The former Vol went to Tennessee from Ocean Springs High School in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
