South Orange’s Ceremony is Scheduled from 9:30 to 11:00 am at the Memorial Rock beside the Duck Pond on the Ridgewood Road side of the park.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER Maplewood's plans include a parade stepping off at 9:00 am from the parking lot on West Parker Avenue. The Parade goes through the center of town and finishes in front of Maplewood Town Hall on the Jerry Ryan Plaza. The ceremony is scheduled to start at 10:00 am. Should there be rain, the Parade will be cancelled and the Ceremony will be held in the Town Hall. Whichever your choice, both ceremonies pay homage to those who fought and gave their lives in service for our country and are quite moving. The annual Duck Race, run by the South Mountain YMCA directly accross from Maplewood Town Hall, starts shortly ater the Maplewood Memorial Ceremony concludes. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The MTA Bridges and Tunnels recently announced that three peregrine falcon chicks have been hatched on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. According to an MTA release, the chicks have joined their mother in the specially built nesting box atop the 693-foot Brooklyn Tower, and have been “banded for wildlife monitoring.”
