Dayton H.S. Girls Lacrosse Team Concludes Successful Season
SPRINGFIELD, NJ -- The Dayton High School girls lacrosse team wrapped up the second season as a varsity program with a 14-5 record after losing to Rumson-Fair Haven last week in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 1 tournament. Before the loss in the state tournament, the Bulldogs had won six games in a row.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER Dayton doubled the number of victories it had in its initial varsity season under coach Jeff Kaesshaefer on 2023. Junior Sara Kaesshaefer led Dayton with 53 goals and also had 20 assists, and junior Gianna Guensch totaled 52 goals and 17 assists. Sophomore Lauren O'Brien led the Bulldogs in assists with 28 and also scored 45 goals. Junior Sophie Lafferty finished with 23 goals and eight assists, and freshman Maya Smith scored 22 goals and was first on the team in groundballs with 48 and second in draw controls with 52. Softball: IHA claims 13th Bergen County Title with win over Ramapo
WOOD-RIDGE â Immaculate Heart Academyâs record 13th Bergen County softball title didnât come easy. âItâs hard every year,â coach Diana Fasano said. The Blue Eagles won their third straight Bergen County title Saturday with a 6-2 win over Ramapo, taking advantage of multiple defensive mistakes by the Raiders and getting a key two-run single from freshman Leah English in the fourth inning.
