MENOMINEE — Add “All-State performer” to Anna Axtell’s already untouchable resume after the omnipresent point guard for the Menominee High School girls basketball team collected All-State recognition from the Detroit Free Press on April 20. MENOMINEE — The hottest ticket in the Twin Cities is the Menominee High School Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony. All 250 tickets to the Class of 2024 induction ceremony have sold out, with the final ticket getting snapped up early Monday morning. This year’s Menominee High School Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place Saturday at the Pullman House in Menominee. Twelve inductees are being honored: Leonard J. Umnus, the 1929 “Point-a-Minute” Menominee Maroons football team, William and Benjamin Fernstrum, Dave Haglund, Bob Theuerkauf, Dr. Burnell Stripling, Mike Photenhauer, Pete Pericolosi, Gary Stewart, Wade Hodge, Jason Boucher and Ashley (Taccolini) Hansmann.
