A head football coach has resigned just before week three of the 2024 high school football season. East Burke High School head coach Derrick Minor stepped down on Thursday. East Burke's principal Anna Moose confirmed the news in a press release. Minor texted a statement to the Morganton Herald which cited health issues for the reason behind his departure.
