Poor road conditions cost Triad drivers $592 annually, report finds
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Roads and bridges in the Triad are in need of updates and construction improvements. TRIP, a national transportation research nonprofit in Washington D.C., just released a September 2024 report. It found that 12% of major roads in the Triad area are in poor condition. Approximately 27% of major roads in the Triad were found to be in mediocre condition.

A judge has agreed to postpone Donald Trump ’s sentencing in his New York hush money case until after the November election. Judge Juan M. Merchan said in his decision Friday that he wanted to avoid any perception that the sentence was intended to tilt the scales in the presidential campaign. The judge delayed Trump’s sentencing until Nov. 26.
Eliminating school choice waiting list of 55,000 appears imminent

Registration opens for two-day regional forestry conference
Registration is open for a free, two-day conference scheduled for late October in Rocky Mount that will educate forest and farm owners about sustainable forestry practices, the role of consulting foresters and technical and financial assistance available through state and federal agencies.
