CRDA Celebrates 13 Years of Success at Annual Dinner, Highlights $250M Investment in Chanute
On Tuesday, the Chanute Regional Development Authority (CRDA) held their annual dinner with current and past board members to reflect on the projects and programming of 2023 and to celebrate successes over the past 13 years. Executive Director Bailey Schwegman shared accomplishments and statistical data since the CRDA’s inception. The America Legion Riders of Post 170 again is offering pavers engraved at the Chanute Area Veterans Memorial on South Santa Fe next to the ball fields. LENEXA, Kan. (KOAM) - Systech Environmental Corporation, a hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facility in Fredonia, Kansas, has agreed to pay $98,513 in civil penalties to resolve alleged violations of the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and its Hazardous Waste Management Facility Permit.
USD 413 Board Approves Donation of Two Local Properties to Main Street Chanute
The USD 413 Board of Education Wednesday gave its approval for Superintendent Matt Koester to work with the board attorney to draft an agreement for the donation of two district-owned properties, 313 and 315 East Main, to Main Street Chanute. Main Street Chanute Annual Meeting Highlights Community Achievements and Revitalization Efforts
Main Street Chanute, a local organization in Chanute, Kansas, conducted its yearly meeting on February 27, 2024, at Colborn’s Kitchen in Stone Creek Golf Course. Local Chanute Airport Secures $180K for Wildlife Barrier Fence Project
The Chanute Martin Johnson Airport will receive $180,000 from the Kansas Airport Improvement Program (KAIP), the governor announced earlier this week. Specifically, the funding obtained will be used for phase 2 of a fence project.
