Shape WSU's Future: Join the Presidential Search Focus Groups
Washington State University (WSU) is inviting its community to participate in selecting its next president. The university has scheduled three virtual focus group sessions for students, staff, and faculty to discuss the challenges, opportunities, and required leadership qualities for the new president. The sessions are organized by the executive search firm Isaacson, Miller and chaired by Jenette Ramos of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee. The student session is on Thursday, May 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; the staff session on Friday, May 3, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and the faculty session on Wednesday, May 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Additional meetings for chancellors, deans, faculty senate leaders, distinguished and Regent professors, and executive vice presidents/vice presidents are also planned. For those who cannot attend, an online survey is available for written feedback. Moreover, members of the WSU community can apply to join the Presidential Search Advisory Committee until May 16. WSU and Local Colleges Join Forces to Green Our Urban Spaces and Combat Climate Change
Washington State University (WSU) has started a project with four community colleges in Washington to improve urban forests and increase tree canopy coverage. This five-year project, supported by a $1.8 million grant from the USDA Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Program under the Inflation Reduction Act, aims to build resilience in urban areas facing climate change challenges. The colleges involved are Spokane Community College, Highline Community College in Des Moines, Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, and Tacoma Community College.
