Toledoans to decide charter amendment that would allow mayors 3 consecutive terms
Toledo voters in November will decide whether to support a proposed city charter change that would expand term limits for the mayor’s office. The measure, if passed, would increase consecutive term limits for mayor from two to three. A group of local business leaders who are supporters of Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz circulated petitions on the proposed charter change throughout the summer to obtain the minimum number of valid signatures to place the measure on the ballot. It was submitted in August to the Lucas County Board of Elections, which certified the petition and placed it on the ballot. Nick Eyde, manager at Geyde Development, is one of the local business leaders supporting the proposal.
