UT Martin Alum Shaley Dawson Returns to Teach Innovative Broadcast Meteorology Course
Shaley Dawson, a 2021 graduate from the University of Tennessee at Martin (UT Martin), is now co-teaching a broadcast meteorology course at the university. She collaborates with Tim Wallace, a geoscience lecturer, utilizing her experience as a broadcast meteorologist. The course is offered through UT Martin's unique meteorology program, the only one in Tennessee, which has successfully helped graduates, including Dawson, find various jobs in the field.

UTM's Investment Challenge Team Honored with TVA Award for Exceptional Portfolio Performance
The University of Tennessee at Martin's (UTM) TVA Investment Challenge team was recognized at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA) annual spring conference on April 2-3 in Nashville. The team, consisting of UTM students, received an award for their outstanding portfolio performance in 2023, which exceeded the S&P 500 benchmark. This success brought them a monetary award to support experiential learning at UTM’s College of Business and Global Affairs.
