Second Volleyball Player of the Week pushed her career assist total past 2,000
The Week 2 State Volleyball Player of the Week had another one of her consistently excellent performances and was rewarded with 30 percent of the votes in the poll. Saraland senior setter Sophia Saxon received 1,740 of the 5,772 total votes to earn the honors. She had 143 assists as the Spartans went 7-2 last week. In her career, the 5-foot-6 Saxon has 2,078 assists after last week’s performances.
