National Park College Welcomes Dr. Wade Derden as New President
National Park College (NPC) has named Dr. Wade Derden as its new president, the fifth person to hold this position. The NPC Board of Trustees unanimously selected him during a meeting last Thursday. Dr. Derden will start his role on July 1, 2024, after a nationwide search that included input from the college community.
NPC Celebrates Local Scholars: Over $140,000 in Health Sciences Scholarships Awarded
National Park College (NPC) recently held its Nursing and Health Sciences Honors Day, an event that recognizes the achievements of students in nursing and allied health programs. This year, the college awarded over $140,000 in scholarships to students in various disciplines, including Registered Nursing, Licensed Practical Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, and others. A total of 176 scholarships were given, funded by community organizations and private donors, many of whom are NPC alumni.
Local Educator Dr. Wade Derden Appointed as New President of National Park College
The National Park College (NPC) Board of Trustees has elected Dr. Wade Derden as the new president of NPC. The decision was made on Thursday, and Dr. Derden will start his new role on July 1, 2024. The selection process involved a nationwide search and the review of over 60 applications by a search committee. Campus visits and open forums were also part of the process.
Royal Resident and NPC Student Shannon Blackburn Honored as April's Student of the Month
Shannon Blackburn, a student at National Park College (NPC), has been named Student of the Month for April. Originally from Somerset, OH, Blackburn retired in 2020 after serving 20 years as an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force. She now lives in Royal, AR, a location chosen based on recommendations from friends she met in the United Kingdom during her service.
