Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree holds commencement for Class of 2024
BRAINTREE – The 112 graduates of Archbishop Williams High School crossed the stage and received their diplomas Thursday evening. The Class of 2024 had more than 9,300 community service hours. Eugene Ward, the former St. Joe's head of school, was the special guest at the graduation ceremony and presented diplomas to six former students who graduated from Archbishop Williams.

Some students chanted “Let them walk, let them walk” during Thursday’s commencement, referring to allowing those 13 students to get their diplomas along with fellow graduates. Student speaker Shruthi Kumar said “this semester our freedom of speech and our expressions of solidarity became punishable,” she said to cheers and applause.
Boston University removes Myles Standish name from dorm, report says
One of Boston University’s dorm buildings named after Plymouth Colony’s military leaders will soon be without a name, according to BU Today. After Wheelock College of Education and Human Development lecturer Anna Ward helped to lead a campaign to remove Myles Standish’s name from one of the school’s dormitories, President ad interim Kenneth Freeman said in a letter to the faculty council on Thursday that the name would be struck from the building, the university’s news website reported Thursday.
