N.Y. State Thruway to get multimillion-dollar upgrades, says Hochul
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Three multimillion-dollar projects announced by Gov. Kathy Hochul will provide much-needed upgrades to the New York State Thruway. The largest project of the trio intends to improve road infrastructure in Ulster and Greene counties. The state has allocated $21.3 million in funds for full and partial depth repairs, along with pavement resurfacing on a 15.5-mile section of I-87 from milepost 93.8 to milepost 109.3, between exit 19 in Kingston and exit 20 in Woodstock. Approximately 40,000 motorists use this stretch of I-87 in both directions every day, according to the state. The project is expected to be completed this fall.
