The Georgia Bulldogs are projected to be the nation’s No. 9 national seed in the NCAA baseball tournament, according D1Baseball. 5-star WR schedules official visit to Georgia
Five-star wide receiver Derek Meadows, one of the top players at his position in the country, has scheduled an official visit to Georgia this summer. The Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) product earned a scholarship offer from the Bulldogs in February. Meadows has set his visit to Athens for June 7. He will also visit Michigan (May 31), Notre Dame (June 14), LSU (June 18) and Alabama (June 21), per 247Sports’ Tom Loy. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound wideout is rated as the No. 1 player in Nevada, the No. 6 wide receiver and the No. 32 player in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports rankings. Meadows doesn’t just stand out on the gridiron. He earned Nevada 2023 Gatorade Track and Field Player of the Year as a sophomore for Bishop Gorman. Rivals, On3 and 247Sports project Meadows to commit to Notre Dame, but never count out Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs. New wide receivers coach James Coley recently added four-star wideout Thomas Blackshear to UGA’s 2025 class.
Georgia baseball’s Charlie Condon named as SEC player of the year
Georgia Bulldogs baseball star Charlie Condon has been named as the SEC player of the year. Condon also made the All-SEC team at third base. Condon leads the nation in batting average at .433. The lengthy hitter has the most home runs (35) of any player in the country. Condon has a team-high 75 RBIs and has drawn 60 walks this season. Condon’s elite season is a big reason why Georgia is ranked as the No. 9 team in the country. Georgia is 39-15 and is awaiting its SEC fate. The Bulldogs are eliminated from the SEC baseball tournament after losing to LSU. Georgia has a chance to host a super regional, but the Dawgs have lost three straight games, which hurts Georgia’s hopes of hosting a super regional (top eight seed). Georgia will almost certainly host a regional. The SEC also honored two other Bulldogs. Tre Phelps made the freshman All-SEC team and catcher Fernando Gonzalez made the SEC All-Defensive team.
