Asian grocery store planned in Waukee
A Waukee resident is making plans to open an Asian grocery store in the Dallas County community. “Most of our community goes all the way to West Des Moines or Des Moines for items,” said Kalyan Tottempudi, who lives in Waukee. “Having something in Waukee would be a lot closer for them.”
YSS Central Iowa youth recovery campus nearing completion
CAMBRIDGE, Iowa — The biggest project to date from YSS, an Iowa organization that works with at-risk and homeless youth, is just weeks away from opening near Cambridge. Ember Recovery Campus will help youth battling substance abuse disorder, which includes drugs and alcohol, get back on their feet. 70 teens and young adults between the ages of 13 and 24 will live at the facility at a time.
