World’s Largest Steam Train Coming To North Texas
Big Boy No. 4014 — the world’s largest operating steam train — is on its way to Fort Worth. The massive train embarked on the "Heartland of America Tour" on Aug. 28, 2024, departing from Cheyenne, Wyoming. The locomotive will travel through nine states: Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. The tour will last eight weeks and is set to conclude in late October. The Fort Worth stop offers the public their first opportunity to view the locomotive up close. Lewisville offering First Time Homebuyer 101
The city of Lewisville will offer a free class this week to help people looking to buy their first home. The class is being provided by local professionals in real estate and lending and hosted by city of Lewisville’s Neighborhood and Inspection Services Department, according to a city news release. The class will walk through first steps when interested in purchasing a home, what the local homebuying process looks like in Lewisville, and financing resources/steps. This class will not be providing direct financial assistance, nor will it be signing any residents up for any first time homebuyer programs.

The city of Lewisville is inviting public feedback on its grant application for the Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) program, which will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. TEXANS BEWARE: Swarms of Bees Are on The Rise!
Police and firefighters in North Richland Hills were called to the scene of a terrible bee attack last Tuesday. A man and woman were both hospitalized after being ravaged by a swarm of bees at the 8000 block of Cross Drive just after noon. Beekeepers are working to contain bees and wasps found in the area and have warned residents to stay indoors while they handle the situation. The man attacked is reportedly still in critical condition.
Florida Based Homebuilder to Expand Texas Development with Over 1,000 New Homes
Lennar Corp., one of the largest homebuilders in the U.S., has registered plans for a significant expansion in the Fort Worth area, with over 1,000 new homes set to be built in the Northpointe community. According to filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), the Miami-based company is planning to add 1,129 homes in a four-phase expansion, including more than 700 homes in a new section named Northpointe West.
