Westonka inducts new honor society members
A total of 56 Mound Westonka High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS) at a special ceremony for students and their families on May 1. Another 54 seniors, who were inducted into the program last year, were also on hand for special recognition. Senior President Samantha Krahl welcomed the visitors to the Westonka Performing Arts Center (PAC) and thanked the parents for their support and hard work. While the Waconia High School theatre department was preparing for its production this week, May 9-11, of Shakespeare in Love, the Waconia Middle School theatre group was staging The Addams Family in several performances the past two weekends. Students can earn credits for community service
Two weeks ago, The Patriot published a story about an opportunity high school students now can get to earn credits toward graduation for working in a health care field such as a senior living facility, hospital, clinic, or licensed child care center. Next school year, Waconia students also will be able to get credit for community service. ISD 110 fills finance, early childhood positions
Waconia School District 110 recently announced two leadership hires. Waconia Public Schools has entered into an agreement with School Management Services (SMS) for an indefinite period to provide business management and support services to the district.
