Levelland to plant 450 trees donated from Houston-based nonprofit
The City of Levelland announced late Wednesday that it plans to plant 450 oak trees across the city as part of its Keep Levelland Beautiful program. The trees -- 50 of which will be planted in the city farm, 150 across Levelland ISD campuses and the remainder given to residents to plant -- were donated by the Houston-based Apache Corporation.

Tired of bugs, Levelland residents hope red flour beetle infestation abated soon
LEVELLAND — Residents in Levelland's Kauffman Addition are fed up with a bug infestation originating at a nearby agricultural facility. For months, residents of the neighborhood have been finding hoards of dark-colored, rice-grain-sized red flour beetles in and around their homes. The insects fly and feed on processed grains.
