Sedalia Police Reports for October 18, 2024
This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. Wednesday evening, Officers were dispatched to a retail store at 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers reported to the parking lot to investigate a hit and run accident. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information from Jack Eugene Cox. Officers also gathered documentation and video of the events. A report was completed.
Elderly Man Assaulted, Suspect Arrested on Multiple Charges
On Wednesday night, Pettis County Joint Communications received a call for service concerning a robbery in the 1100 block of South Missouri Avenue. Sedalia Police responded to the scene, where it was determined an elderly male was walking when he was attacked by a younger male with a blunt instrument. The elderly male was robbed of his personal property.
Tightwad Man Injured in Windsor Wreck
A Tightwad man was injured in a two-vehicle collision that occurred Thursday afternoon in Windsor. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2023 Nissan Rogue, driven by a 16-year-old from Windsor, was at Highway 52 and Highway 2 just after 5 p.m., when the driver failed to yield and struck an eastbound 2012 Chevy Silverado, driven by 52-year-old Trevor Leimkuehler of Tightwad.
Sedalia Woman Killed in Pettis County Crash
A Sedalia woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Pettis County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2012 Honda Accord, driven by 80-year-old Gayline R. Leafty of Sedalia, failed to yield to a westbound 2017 Volvo Tractor Truck, driven by 55-year-old Lloyd R. Waxter of Fort Worth, Texas, at the intersection of Route Y and Quisenberry just before 4:30 p.m.
Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for October 16, 2024
This article is compiled from reports issued by the Pettis County Sheriff's Office. Last Wednesday night, Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Maplewood North Road and US 50 Highway on a vehicle that had no lights on. Deputies checked the driver’s information with Dispatch, who advised the driver was on Probation for a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The driver gave Deputies consent to search the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, Deputies located a dollar bill rolled up in the purse next to the driver’s seat, which had a white crystal substance inside. Deputies found another rolled up bill on the passenger seat which also had a white substance inside. Deputies advised the driver they were going to test the substance, and she said it would “probably test positive for Methamphetamine.” Jessica Suzanne Jones, 46, of Otterville, was placed under arrest. After Jones was placed under arrest, the substances were tested and came back positively for Methamphetamine as well as Fentanyl. Both substances appeared to be above the statutory limit of 10MG for Fentanyl. Jones was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail, facing felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Trafficking Drugs in the 2nd Degree*. Bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety.
Sedalia Man Injured When Ford Strikes Tree
A Sedalia man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday night in Pettis County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 1995 Ford F-150, driven by 20-year-old Drake B. Miller of Sedalia, was on Olive Branch Road, west of Route 0 around 10 p.m., when the truck traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
