AHSTW Rolls Past Missouri Valley 43-6
(Avoca, IA) — It was a night of celebration for AHSTW — first it was Homecoming, always a big deal — second the school honored the 1974 state championship team on their 50th anniversary and third — the Vikings beat the Big Reds 43-6. Luke Sternberg would run for 188 yards and 2 TD, plus he threw a 30 yard TD pass to Chase Wheatley, plus he got an interception at the goal line to stop a Missouri Valley; there are a lot of pluses when it comes to Sternberg is now 36 rushing yards short of 1,000 for the season. Sternberg had TD runs of 42 and 63 yards both in the first quarter and the Vikings added a safety on a bad snap off a Big Red punt. AHSTW led 23-0 at the half. Drew Lee would add three TD runs in the 2nd half. The only score for Missouri Valley was a 66 yard TD run from Rush Knudsen.
