Oregon Ducks thrower Jaida Ross broke her own NCAA shot put record at the national prelims Thursday, joining an elite group of athletes in the process. On her second spin in the first round, Ross made history with a 20.01-meter toss (65 feet, 7¾ inches), becoming the first collegiate woman ever to surpass 20 meters and just the seventh woman in American history to reach the mark. She is the fifth woman in the world with a throw over 20 meters in 2024.
