MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A fake information technology firm stole $8,500 from a resident who thought the scammers were protecting her computer from viruses. On Sept. 4, the resident told police that she had hired the fake company -- called MBSAP Enterprises and supposedly located in Hicksville, N.Y. -- in November 2022.
