Iowa Salmonella Outbreak: Recalled Wisconsin Eggs the Cause
A large egg recall is affecting nine states including Iowa. The CDC says the recalled eggs have been linked to a salmonella outbreak. The Centers for Disease Control and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration are both investigating the outbreak across nine states. The Des Moines Register reports that 65 people have been infected with salmonella linked to eggs supplied by Milo's Poultry Farms LLC. The FDA stated that the illnesses occurred between May 23 and August 10th. 24 people were hospitalized. No deaths have been reported.
Gas Prices Fall for Sixth Straight Week
UNDATED (WJON News) -- For the sixth straight week, gas prices have dropped to their lowest level since last winter. Gas Buddy now counts 11 states and over 45,000 stations with gas prices below $3 per gallon. They say they fully expect gas prices will continue to drop as Americans drive less with the onset of fall. Also, with oil prices falling below $70 per barrel, there's room for gas prices to continue falling for some time. They expect the national average could fall below $3 per gallon as early as October.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth has issued a Freeze Warning for Central and North St. Louis Counties, including Ely, Hibbing, and recreational areas such as Voyageurs National Park and the Boundary Waters western area. The warning remains in effect until 8 AM CDT this morning as temperatures are expected to drop as low as 25°F, posing significant risks to sensitive vegetation and unprotected outdoor plumbing.

MINNEAPOLIS — Sunday will be another beautiful day filled with sunshine and warmer temperatures after a brief fling with fall.Temperatures will start in the 50s Sunday morning with afternoon highs working their way up to 80, which is about average for this time of year.High pressure stays in the area into the work week with highs even warmer into the mid-80s. Some may even push 90 on Wednesday and Thursday.Wind will pick up Tuesday with gusts pushing up to 30 mph.There are no good chances for rain until next weekend.
