Ohio schools are a continuing topic of discussion and controversy. Politically I lean toward liberalism but on the topic of education I am conservative. We keep hearing that many children are not ready for kindergarten when they reach that age. One very large contributing factor to this condition is the cost and quality of day care.
2024 track and field regionals: Toledo-area high school athletes to watch
The destination has changed, but the goal remains the same for area track and field athletes who qualified for this week’s regional competition. For the top four finishers in each event in regional competition, plus the next top two performances statewide per event, bids to the state meet at Dayton’s Welcome Stadium are forthcoming. In Division I, the road to state goes through Port Clinton, where competition will take place Wednesday and Friday. Division II athletes from the Oak Harbor and Ontario districts will compete in the regional at Lexington, where competition takes place Thursday and Saturday. Athletes from the Defiance district will compete in the regional at Piqua, also Thursday and Saturday.

Ohio school system faces $90M deficit from COVID-19 spending

In a vote that ended May 24, Cincinnati.com readers selected the Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Athletes of the Week from high school sports action through May 19. The Enquirer has mailed certificates for winter winners through April 5 to athletic departments. The next round will go out in late May or early June.
