Multiple children injured after Washington County fair ride malfunctions
DONEGAL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- A ride at a fair in Washington County has parents on edge. Emergency officials confirmed a problem caused injuries to multiple children.According to a mother at the fair, her three children were on the roller coaster when it allegedly came off the cinder block supports. The impact allegedly hurt them, along with other children at the West Alexander Fair.Washington County dispatch said this happened just before 7:40 Thursday evening. SEC reaches settlement with Pittsburgh company over false tender offer to buy U.S. Steel
The Securities and Exchange Commission says that it has reached a settlement with industrial conglomerate Esmark and its chairman for announcing a false tender offer to buy U.S. Steel.The agency said Friday that in August 2023 Esmark Inc., at the direction and approval of founder, chairman, and former CEO James Bouchard, announced a tender offer to buy U.S. Steel Corp. for $35 per share even though it didn't have the financial means to complete the offer.
