TCU volleyball swept by Holy Family
Thursday night, the Tri-City United volleyball team hosted the Holy Family Fire in a nonconference showdown. Holy Family controlled the action from the opening serve, earning a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-15) sweep of the Titans. With the loss, TCU is now 5-6 (2-2 BSC) on the season. The Titans will return to action Saturday, Sep. 28, when they host an invitational featuring several programs from the region. TCH is scheduled to face Lester Prairie, Cedar Mountain and Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial with the opening match scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.
Chanhassen defeats Waconia on football field
The Chanhassen football team moved to 2-2 on the season with a 27-0 win over Waconia Friday night. The Storm jumped out to an early lead after a big run led to a 2-yard score from Riley Syverson. Nathan Rambler then found James Kopfmann for a 27-yard touchdown to put Chanhassen up 13-0 after the first quarter. Ramler and Kopfmann would connect again in the second quarter with a 10-yard touchdown, before Ramler scored a 1-yard touchdown to put the final score at 27-0. ...
Providence football is 3-1 at halfway point
Providence Academy’s football team has a zoo-like matchup for homecoming at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27. The Lions (3-1) take on the Tigers from Delano (0-4) on Providence’s home field in Plymouth. “Delano might be the best 0-4 team I have seen in 17 years,” Providence head coach Colin Rooney said. “It is a potential trap game for us with Orono coming up the following week.” ...
