Gettysburg Borough Honors Retiring Sgt. Weikert
During a recent meeting, the Gettysburg Borough Council and Mayor Rita Frealing honored retiring Police Sgt. Larry Weikert for his long service. Weikert, who joined the borough in 1988, has worked in various capacities including as a code enforcement officer, part-time patrol officer, full-time police officer since 2003, and sergeant since 2016. Throughout his career, he served under four police chiefs, coordinated special events, and was a volunteer firefighter, even serving as department chief multiple times.
