Ultimate Cincinnati Guide: Eat, Drink, and Play Like a Local!
On my recent business trip, I visited Cincinnati in the Midwest, right next to Kentucky. Just a bridge away lies Kentucky, and I must say, the view from the bridge is stunning! 😍 While Cincinnati's downtown is nice, I found Kentucky's downtown area to be cleaner and felt safer. Both the zoo and the aquarium are worth a visit, with a great variety of animals and super cute kangaroos! 🦘 Here are the top 3 restaurants I highly recommend: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Riverside Korean Restaurant (Kentucky) Their beef rib radish soup is to die for, especially comforting when I caught a cold in the first week 🤒. The side dishes were so-so, but the octopus with pork belly was tasty, and although I wouldn't recommend the black bean noodles, overall, it's a great spot. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Zundo (Cincinnati) This place serves some authentically delicious Japanese ramen 🍜. Both their ramen and rice dishes exceed expectations, you really can't go wrong here. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just Q'in BBQ (Kentucky) A famous local BBQ joint that my colleagues had already visited twice, so I went with some skepticism. The brisket was incredibly tender, and the sauce had the mild flavor I love ❤️. Plus, their cornbread is fantastic! 😋 These spots made my trip both tasty and memorable!
Dining at Applebee's Grill + Bar: From Refreshing Mocktails to Service Delays
Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Applebee's Grill + Bar, and I must say, the experience was a mixed bag. The highlight of my visit was definitely the Mai Tai Mocktail, a refreshing choice that I highly recommend. The atmosphere and service were generally good, adding to the overall pleasant vibe of the place. However, the food experience varied. The all-you-can-eat chicken started off great but became less appealing with overly breaded pieces as the meal progressed. On another note, the prime rib dipper and a chicken and shrimp dish were just okay, nothing to write home about. The Patron margarita, on the other hand, was excellent and stood out as a beverage highlight. A downside was the service speed; even when the restaurant wasn’t crowded, the wait times for food and drinks were longer than expected, which was a bit of a letdown. Despite these hiccups, the friendly service did make up for the waiting. While the place ticks most boxes for a good family restaurant, a little tweak in the kitchen's speed and consistency could make it even better. If you're not in a rush and looking for a spot to enjoy a casual meal, this could be a place to consider.
Have You Tried the Amazing Chicken at Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers?
If you're on the hunt for some top-notch chicken tenders, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is a must-try spot that I recently had the pleasure of visiting. The chicken here is always hot, fresh, and perfectly hand-battered, a testament to their commitment to quality that even a seasoned chef praised. The standout, however, has to be THE SAUCE! It's tangy, a bit more potent than others I've tried, and absolutely addictive.
