Woman arrested 17 years after her friend’s beheaded remains were found in black bag
TROUP COUNTY, Ga. (TCN) -- Officials recently arrested a woman on suspicion of concealing her friend’s death and using her identity to steal benefits. According to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, on the morning of Dec. 6, 2007, deputies responded to the corner of Whitfield and Stitcher roads, where they found a body in a burning black bag. The hands, feet, and head were reportedly missing.

West Caldwell Mourns Former Police Captain Alfred Joseph Kopf
WEST CALDWELL, NJ – Alfred Joseph Kopf, a retired former captain of the West Caldwell Police Department, died at 96 on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Kopf served the West Caldwell Police Department from 1950 to 1979. He served in the U.S. Army, providing support for the Korean Conflict from 1946-1948. His son John also served the West Caldwell Police Department from 1988 until retiring at the rank of lieutenant in 2015. “Captain Kopf's legacy of service, love, and integrity will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered. May he rest in peace,” the West Caldwell Police Department said in a post on its Facebook page. Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home (45 Roseland Ave, Roseland, NJ 07068) followed by the funeral service from the same location. Edgewater Real Estate Developer Fred Daibes Pleads Guilty To Bank Fraud
The former CEO and chairman of the board of directors at Mariner's Bank pleaded guilty in Newark federal court to making false entries in connection with a $1.8 million loan from his bank in 2008, US Attorney Phillip Sellinger said. Daibes said the line of credit was for someone else, when it was actually for his benefit, Sellinger said.
