SBU Sports: Men’s lacrosse falls to Hofstra in regular season finale 11-9
The Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team fell to Hofstra, 11-9, on April 27 at LaValle Stadium. Nick Dupuis led the Seawolf offensive attack with a team-high five points. The Seawolf defense held strong early, forcing two consecutive shot clock violations in the opening five minutes. Two minutes later, Hofstra broke through with two goals in 30 seconds to take a 2-0 lead with 8:58 remaining in the first. Both teams traded two goals apiece to end the opening quarter as the Pride took a 4-2 lead into the second.
East Setauket's Ward Melville High Triumphs in Regional Mock Trial, Heads to State Championships
The Ward Melville High School Mock Trial team from East Setauket recently won the Region VIII Mock Trial title, defeating teams including the two-time regional champions, Huntington High School. This victory qualifies them for the state championships in Albany, scheduled for May 19-22, 2024. Their last participation at this level was in 2016.

Andrew Childs recorded two goals and two assists for Bridgewater-Raritan in its 8-5 win over Ridge, No. 12 in the NJ.com Top 20, in Basking Ridge. Declan Kurdyla added two goals for Bridgewater-Raritan, which led 4-2 after the first quarter and 6-2 at halftime. Brody Nussman chipped in with one goal and one assist in the victory.
