Egbert, I.S. 2 in Midland Beach, enthusiastically invited us to the intermediate school’s cosmetology program for their 8th graders this year. “We believe that exploring trade education is an essential part of the overall education of all students. We piloted the program with 30 8th-grade students this year and hope to expand. Of the 30, about five boys participate and are very interested in the class,” Ms. Henry stated. “We have visiting barbers and hairdressers and are even taking a class trip to the Paul Mitchell school.”
