Medication Management Course To Be Held At Mountainside Library
MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ - Cranford Park Care is offering a medication management course at the Mountainside Public Library on Friday, October 11 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The course offers caregivers and older adults the opportunity to learn about how they can improve medicine use safety, awareness of common issues, and the difference between prescription and non-prescription medicine. Fanwood Environmental Commission Announces Winners of Great Birdhouse Contest
FANWOOD, NJ – The Fanwood Environmental Commission has announced the winners of its Great Birdhouse Contest. First, second, and third place prizes were awarded for the children’s category and one prize was given for the adult category. The Children’s winners are: 1st prize: "Home Tweet Home," made by Emma Yegelwel. 2nd prize: "Fanwood Condo's" made by a group of six during a birthday party: Nali Foster, Evie Papernik, Benson Jensrek, Dempsey Jenskrek, Amelia Schneder, and Cecilia Bryce. 3rd prize: "Sparrow Manor," made by Chaya Senthilvelan. The Adult winner is: "The Nesting Place," made by Anna-Marie Chimento and Frank Chimento (a father/daughter team). The birdhouses are on display at the Fanwood Memorial Library until Saturday, October 12, then they will be on display for "Youth Day" at the Fanwood Nature Center. Edison Moving Company Fined by State, One of Many Fined in Undercover Operation
EDISON, NJ - A moving company located in Edison Township has been fined by the Attorney General’s office for operating without a license, according to a press release. Moving With A Vision faces a $5,000 fine. MTA approves new $68.4B capital plan: Here’s what it could mean for Staten Island
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The MTA approved a new $68.4 billion capital plan this week that will run through the end of the decade. The five-year plan will cover the transportation authority’s spending from 2025 to 2029. And while the plan was unanimously approved by the MTA board, just under half of the spending plan — $33.4 billion — remains unfunded.

Elizabeth Naval School Recognized For Academic Excellence
ELIZABETH, NJ - The Admiral William F. Halsey, Jr. Health and Public Safety Academy Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (MCJROTC) program has been recognized for academic excellence, according to an official Elizabeth Public Schools news release. The program was awarded a Naval Honor School designation, which recognizes programs in the top 20 percent throughout the United States. Elizabeth Public Schools says this is the fifth time in six years that they have achieved this distinction.
