Rockport mourns the loss of volunteer fire chief after battle with transplant complications
ROCKPORT, Texas — The Rockport Volunteer Fire Department (RVFD) announced the passing of Chief Aaron Guerrero at the age of 38. Guerrero, who had been with the RVFD since he was 19 years old and served as Chief for the past three years, passed away surrounded by his family and fellow firefighters. He had battled medical complications for the last couple of years and received a heart and kidney transplant earlier this year. Unfortunately, he succumbed to transplant complications, according to a press release from the RVFD.

ROCKPORT, Texas — The City of Rockport is accepting applications for two new advisory boards that will play a vital part in the growth of the city. The City is looking for 12 individuals to lead their efforts in promoting tourism, economic growth and development. Two new boards have been formed with that goal in mind, the Convention and Visitor Bureau Advisory Board (CVB) and Tax Reinvestment Zone 1 Advisory Board (TIRZ).
