Coach Dowell Secures 300th Win as Glen Rock Softball Dominates Hawthorne
GLEN ROCK, NJ - Coach Kelly Dowell is in the 300 club. On May 20, Dowell got her 300th win as coach of the Glen Rock High School Softball team in a 5-0 win over Hawthorne.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER With the win, the Panthers finished on top of their league with a regular season record of 12-0 in league play and a 20-5 record overall. Verona Softball Tosses No-Hitter In Opening Round of NJSIAA Tournament
VERONA, NJ - Verona Varsity Softball brought their best stuff to the mound on Wednesday, blanking Secaucus 14-0 in the opening round of the NJSIAA Tournament. Synclaire Szamborski and Sienna Armani combined for ten strikeouts and threw a combined no-hitter for the Hillbillies. Armani was credited with the win on the mound. Gabby Egnezzo drove in three runs on an RBI double. Szamborski added a two-RBI triple. In total, 11 batters recorded at least one hit for the Hillbillies. Next up for Verona is a matchup on the road against Whippany Park in the Quarterfinal Round of the NJSIAA Tournament. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28. MAPLEWOOD, NJ -- Parisppany Hills eliminated Columbia in the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Group 4 tournament with a 14-12 boys lacrosse victory over the Cougars on Friday.
