The winning numbers for Friday's Mega Millions drawing were 6-23-41-59-63 with a Mega Ball of 25. Nobody matched all six numbers for the $740 million jackpot. That means the jackpot will rise to $800 million for the next drawing on Tuesday, September 10. The estimated cash payout is $401 million.

A Houston ISD teacher has been arrested on child endangerment charges after allegedly locking her 12-year-old daughter out of their apartment overnight. Georgette Albert, 45, is accused of not allowing the child back inside over an argument, forcing the child to sleep on a bench in the apartment complex. The child attempted to get back into the apartment several times.

Although some Texas dove seasons are better than others, I always anticipate the Sept. 1st opener. Last year was fair but this season should be a barn burning. Spring population surveys conducted by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department estimates that 34.4 million mourning doves. This is the third highest count in survey history.
