Boston College PFF History Review - Special Teams
Taking a look at Boston College special teams for the last five years using PFF. As we hit a quiet spot in the college football yearly calendar---it's short, just the next week---let's take a look at some data around Boston College football. One group that does not usually get a lot of online ink is the special teams unit. Obviously the special teams are incredibly important to the overall productivity of a team, but how has this group performed? To get a better understanding we are going to go to Pro Football Focus, which grades out players after every game, and gives an end of the season grade. The industry leader in grading, we have used them throughout the past two seasons for individual game grades---ironically enough we have never given their special teams grades because they usually come out much later. PFF also gives snap totals, and more detailed information that we will provide below.
