CODI Alert system now active in Virginia
HAMPTON, Va. — A new alert for missing and endangered children went into effect in Virginia on Thursday. The "Critical Operation for a Disappeared Child Initiative" or CODI Alert, is named for 4-year-old Codi Bigsby, who was never found after he was reported missing in Hampton in 2022. At the time, police had not issued an AMBER Alert because they did not believe the boy was abducted.
