Williamson Ruritan Hosts Final Ice Cream Social of the Year. The Williamson Ruritan Club will be serving up one last, sweet scoop of summer on October 8, 2024, at the year’s final ice cream social. The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Williamson Ruritan building, 5583 Kennedy Ave, St. Thomas, PA. Over the past half a century, homemade ice cream has grown to be an organization hallmark and annually generates thousands of dollars in fundraising that is channeled back into the community.
Live Music Fridays: Ethan Larsh and JD Ridenour to Perform
Local musicians Ethan Larsh and JD Ridenour are set to perform at Music Makers on Friday, September 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The free event is part of the Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro’s “Live Music Fridays” series, offering the community an opportunity to enjoy rock-influenced music in a relaxed setting.
Experience History at Franklin County Historical Society’s Conversation & Booksigning with Jeff Shaara
Franklin County Historical Society is hosting a Conversation & Booksigning with Author and Historian Jeff Shaara at the Capitol Theatre on October 5, 7 PM to 9 PM. The conversation will center around Shaara’s newest novel, The Shadow of War. The conversation is moderated by Dr. Steven Burg of Shippensburg University. The Shadow of War takes a closer look at the Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962. In his own words, Shaara explains the story.
