Wyoming High School Football Week 1 Schedule: Sept. 5-7, 2024
The first full slate of high school football games in Wyoming is here. It is Week 1 of the 2024 season, and all but one team will debut or play a second game this season. There are games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Six games feature ranked teams going head-to-head. That includes a pair of No. 1 versus No. 2 showdowns in 2A and 6-man. New football rankings will be released on Wednesday, so that could change the number of ranked matchups.

Recently, TMZ reports that Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan makes a massive investment. He purchases a 179-acre ranch for $4.95 million. On his expansive ranch, he has two trout streams and has potential for waterfowl hunting. Moreover, the land is mostly barren and plain. Therefore, the land is essentially his playground to design to his liking.
Natrona County health and food inspections (8/26/24–9/1/24)
CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper-Natrona County Health Department inspects restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, mobile food units, commissaries, and food vending operations. Every facility has an unannounced inspection at least twice a year. According to the department, “There are three types of violations: priority, priority foundation and core.”

The opening games of high school football can be a bit unpredictable but the players are glad to be hitting another team as opposed to pounding away at practice. First-game jitters are part of it and Natrona made plays when they needed to as they stymied Thunder Basin 17-7 to begin the 4A season on Friday in Casper.
Cheyenne Cross Country Post Race Remarks
It was the opening weekend for cross country and more than a few Wyoming schools competed with more than a few Colorado schools at the Wyoming Invite in Cheyenne on Friday. Both the boys' and girls' fields were huge and sophomore Maggie Madsen of Cheyenne East outdueled Ally Wheeler from Natrona for the win. She had an outstanding freshman year for the T-Birds with a 4th place finish at the 4A State Cross Country meet and a pair of 2nd place finishes at the 4A State Track Meet in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs.
