Sparta Football Wins Big Over Newton
NEWTON, NJ - On Friday, September 20, Sparta's and Newton's football teams challenged each other. It was an intense game, with great enthusiasm by the crowds for both Sparta and Newton. The Braves hosted the game, and Sparta won 39-7. Knolls loses in Battle for First Place
DENVILLE, NJ – Mishel Kurt scored the only goal of the game as Morris Knolls lost a 1-0 decision to Mount Olive in a high school field hockey battle played at Knolls between the two leaders in the North Jersey Athletic Conference’s National Division.The loss was the first of the season in the division for the Lady Eagles while Mount Olive remained unbeaten in division play. Plans for Addition to Alpine School Presented at Thursday's Sparta Board of Education Meeting
SPARTA, NJ – Sparta Superintendent Matthew Beck will be presenting plans for an addition to the Alpine Elementary School at the board of education meeting on Thursday. This initiative would require voter approval in bond referendum special election. According to the agenda Beck and architect Allen Barnett of DiCara Rubino Architects will present their “referendum proposal” for the expansion project.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTEROn September 18 Beck sent a letter to the “Sparta Community” explaining the board of education and district administrators have been “collaborating with the architect to create plans for a referendum that would bring a much needed addition to Alpine Elementary School.”“Necessary facility upgrades” to other school buildings will be included in the referendum initiative, Beck said in his letter without further details. The public will be given the opportunity to comment on the plans and offer input after Beck’s presentation at the meeting on Thursday, according to the letter. Sparta Boys Soccer Bests Morristown on Tuesday
SPARTA, NJ – The high school boys soccer squad had success on Tuesday playing on Cassels field beating Morristown 3-1. Andy Parreno led the Spartan’s effort with two goals and an assist.Patrick Connors netted one with an assist. Sparta’s offense tested the Morristown goalie 12 times.The boys have a nearly perfect record of 6-0-1 for the season. They will play at Morris Knolls on Saturday morning. Parsippany Football: High Point Cruises Past Redhawks 41-13
PARSIPPANY, NJ - High Point continued their undefeated season with a commanding 41-13 victory over Parsippany on Friday night, moving to 4-0 and leaving Parsippany's season at 0-3.
